How to Get Rid of Moths in Your Home

Moths are not very pleasant to have around, and they can be hard to get rid of. The adult moths don’t eat clothes, but their babies do. If you see adult moths in your house, it means they have a nest somewhere, and your things are in danger.

How to Prevent Moths from Coming:

Keep It Clean: Moths like dirt and stains, so you need to get rid of any food or spills.

Store Things in Airtight Containers: Use containers or bags that are airtight to store your things. Keep them in a cool, dry place, because moths like it moist.

Use Natural Scents: Some smells like lavender, cedar, and cloves make moths go away. Put bags of these plants or cedar blocks in your containers to keep moths out.

Use Mothballs or Traps: You can also use mothballs or traps to protect your things. These products have chemicals that make moths stay away. Be careful when using naphthalene, because it can be bad for you if you breathe it in.

How to Get Rid of Moths:

Wash or Dry Clean: To get rid of moth eggs, wash or dry clean your clothes. Use hot temperatures, around 55°C, when you wash them. Do this before you store your clothes for a long time if you think they might have moths.

Clean Everything: Clean your floors, carpets, and vents to get rid of larvae and anything that might make more moths.

Freeze Them: Freeze anything that might have moths for 24 hours. This will kill the bugs and their babies.

By doing these things, you can say goodbye to moths and keep your things safe from them.
