How to Get Multiple Crops of Broccoli From one Plant

Discover how to get multiple harvests of broccoli and how to keep this healthy vegetable fresh for longer. Broccoli can be picked throughout the season, and it can also produce crops in the fall in areas with mild winters.

To make more side florets grow, cut the first broccoli heads just under the florets. It’s important to pick them before they start to turn yellow. For later harvests, cut the heads about 10-15 cm under the flower cluster.

Fresh broccoli only lasts for about five days at 1-3°C, but freezing is a good way to store it for a long time. After cutting, wash and dry the heads, put them in plastic bags, and freeze them. When you thaw them, broccoli keeps its nutritional value, making it a handy choice for winter meals.

Broccoli is easy to grow, even for beginners. The cabbage’s natural chemicals help to keep insects away, so you don’t need to do anything extra.
